<p><span class="medium">I painted this at a <strong>Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association</strong> paint-out and Workshop with Jeff Smith. As he was painting the Lagoon, I did this painting from the top of a 15 foot dune. (I painted the Lagoon a couple of days later). </span></p>
<p><span class="medium">This spot no longer exists. <strong> </strong></span></p>
<p><span class="medium"><strong>The Federal Department of </strong></span><strong>Fisheries</strong> demanded the river be re-routed to the north, resulting in the erosion of the parking lot, rest rooms, and the sand dunes where this was painted.  You would need to hover 30 feet above the river to do this painting now. . . and so it goes. . .</p>

It was late in the Fall, and there were just a few clusters of leaves still left on the trees.
